2003

The Two Maids & A Mop story begins in Pensacola, Florida in a 250 square foot office located on the wrong side of the tracks…literally. A railroad track stretched across all sides of the property, producing wall-shaking roars every 30 minutes. Tiny as it was, this original office was where some of the brand’s biggest ideas were created including the cleaning industry’s most famous compensation method: The Pay for Performance Plan.

2004

Hurricane Ivan

Two Maids & A Mop opened a second store located in Destin, FL. One week after Grand Opening, Hurricane Ivan hit the area bringing category 5 winds and destroying hundreds of homes, many of which were our clients. Although it was a devastating blow, the area recovered quickly and so did we. The Destin, FL location is a major part of our story proving that we can “weather any storm” and it continues to be a thriving territory for us.

2005

Our third location opened along the Gulf Coast of Northwest Florida in Panama City Beach, FL. This location proved that Two Maids & A Mop could be successful in multiple markets and there was no need for the founder to be active in the day-to-day operations of every office. A systemized, scalable brand was emerging!

2009

Two Maids & A Mop expands beyond the state of Florida and opened a store in Birmingham, AL. The Magic City would later become the location of our Home Office and the site of immense internal company growth. It would be here that Two Maids & A Mop’s innovative lead generation formula would be tested, producing results that blew us away!

2010

As our growth continued, we chose to open a fifth and sixth location in Nashville, TN and Huntsville, AL. Nashville represented our largest metropolitan market. We now had proof that the Two Maids concept could work in small, medium and large markets!

2011

Our reach now stretched across four states and eclipsed the 100-employee mark. The growth in each location was overwhelming and the Cleaning Industry was being to notice. We started regularly receiving calls inquiring how to start a cleaning business. These calls and conversations planted the thought in our head: “What if we shared our secret to success by franchising the brand across the country?”

2012

Three more office locations opened: Montgomery, AL; Greensboro, NC and Charlotte, NC. We were cleaning hundreds of homes everyday across five different states. What a tremendous feeling! Best of all, an industry association formally recognized Two Maids & a Mop as the National Maid Service of the Year!

2013

We received many industry awards this year, but the biggest one was from Inc. Magazine. Two Maids & A Mop was recognized as the fastest growing cleaning company in the nation! David Luke joins the company to help propel the brand into its new role as a franchisor.
